Someday. Someone.

I absolutely love, love this! Because somebody somewhere out there needs to read this, know this, and believe this. You’re perfect and more than enough for that someone out there. Even your flaws and imperfections will be beautiful to them. So don’t settle. Don’t change to be loved. Don’t compromise. It’ll be worth it because you’re worth it. So until then stay the way you are, and let them find you.

Keep going or move on?

e20e9df86bb94dc815b8ce9a6428a9bb

It’s a fine line to know whether to keep going or whether to move on – it could be a relationship, goal, or work. I wish there was a formula I could give you but only you can figure that out for yourself. There isn’t a cookie cutter answer because what works for one person might not work for you – since everyone’s in different stages of life with different mindsets, different emotions, and different circumstances.

The thing I would suggest doing is to take the time to do some soul searching. Ask yourself some hard questions and be honest with yourself. This will help you to re-evaluate whether to continue or to move on.

Here are 5 questions to ask yourself:

  1. Why did I start this? And does this answer still apply today?
  2. What do I really want? And what am I going to do about it?
  3. Am I just bored and want change?
  4. Am I putting unnecessary pressure on myself?
  5. What are my core beliefs and values? And does it line up with what I’m doing?

Or it may be as simple as that you’re just tired, and that you need to rest rather than to quit. Rest, rejuvenation, and restoration can do wonders to your psyche.

Wherever you are (or going) on your journey, I wish for you peace, joy, and fulfillment.

How to stay motivated.

We all need motivation from time to time because sometimes we can lose sight of where we’re going and why we’re doing it. And we can especially get disheartened when we’re not making any progress or seeing the fruits of our labour. Here are some simple ways to stay motivated when we’d rather quit.

Find the beauty & celebrate it daily.

I think more often than not, we’re so quick to criticize ourselves. There’s always something that could be better – we wish we were this, we wish we weren’t that. Very rarely will we give ourselves recognition and embrace who we are. We don’t realize the negative impact our self-destructive talk can have on our home, which is our body. We need to take care of it and nurture it – it’s the only one we’ve got. As flawed as we may be, I hope we find the beauty within and celebrate it daily.

Some wounds never heal.

Your relationship is more important than your differences.

Let love guide you in your pain and struggle.

More often than not, we’d rather run away from our pain, problem, or hurt than to face it head on. But I believe a lesson never goes away until we learn what they’re supposed to teach us. We can avoid difficult people or we can learn how to love them beyond our capacity. We can be frustrated at a problem or think of a creative solution to get through it. We can stay mad or we can learn to let go. We have choices everyday, and these choices will either make or break us. It’s not always easy to do the right thing or be the better person but for the sake of our spiritual growth and mental peace, we must let love guide us in our decision making process. And when we do, we’ll find that our pain won’t have a grip on us any longer because we’ve been set free.

Be a team player in the game of life.

Being a sports fan in the audience is easy – there’s no risk, pain, or skill required. It’s easy for us to critique and criticize the players from the comforts of our living room or from the stadium seats. We have very little riding except for the victory we expect from the team we’re rooting for. We share in their victory or defeat but there are no rewards, contributions, or sacrifice on our part.

The same applies to the game of life. Our lives weren’t meant to be lived from the sidelines, watching and criticizing others – we need to get out on the field and contribute to the team. We may not think we have much to contribute and we may even feel insecure or insignificant. But I can assure you that each one of us are here to make a difference – to love, create, help, heal, and give beyond ourselves.

We have to get out there and give it our best shot in the game of life! We have to stop worrying about what might go wrong and start thinking about what might go right. Play hard but play fair. The team needs us. Let’s take chances, follow our convictions, and most of all, have fun!
